Barco - Providing in-depth insight into the latest trends in mammography
Posted on Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Our Coronis Uniti® diagnostic displays can really make a difference during breast cancer screening. That’s one of the findings that 40 Polish radiologists and as many radiographers took home after last month’s mammography workshop in Warsaw – an initiative by trusted partner GE, supported by Barco. Most importantly, the workshop provided attendees with in-depth insights into the latest developments in mammography.

Advances in breast imaging
Over the past few years, there’s been some tremendous advances in breast imaging, which brings major benefits to the detection of breast cancer. The aim of the workshop was to zoom in on the developments, including Mammotome biopsy, breast tomosynthesis and, breast elastography. The radiologists and radiographers, both located at different venues, received a mix of lectures from leading experts, including Dr. El?bieta ?uczy?ska from the Krakow Oncology Center, case reviews and dedicated hands-on workshops.

Down to the smallest detail

Barco’s Coronis Uniti with its unique workflow and rapidframe tools were used for the four sessions on breast tomosynthesis. The radiologists were invited to work with our flagship diagnostic display system, which enables users to view a host of breast imaging modalities on a single display. They experienced how Coronis Uniti helps to accurately visualize moving and changing images, avoiding loss of detail when scrolling, and ensuring efficient diagnosis as well as swift workflow.

The feedback on the workshop was exceptionally positive. Consequently, an additional, similar workshop is planned in Wroclaw, at the end of October!
