Posted on Monday, April 13, 2015
Snell MAM, workflow automation and resource planning system scales to enterprise level

Snell announced today a raft of developments for its Momentum MAM and workflow automation system, which together add powerful new MAM capabilities and expand the reach of Momentum into every area of enterprise scale broadcast operations. The new features are:

Support for Archive workflows - fully integrated workflow with Front Porch DIVArchive for media storage and retrieval with one of the industry’s leading enterprise class media archive solutions.

Support for enhanced audio and subtitle workflows– enables multi-track audio and caption workflows which can be independent of the video essence without losing association. This development enables multi-language capabilities, including full proxy browse support for the audio, title and caption content.

FIMS compliant– delivering optimum flexibility and choice of controlled systems using industry standard FIMS (Framework for Interoperable Media Services), enabling the customer to choose and apply the most appropriate solution for every element of the media workflow.

Two new SDKs– enable creation of custom UIs and device drivers for all Momentum functionality. Using these SDKs, Momentum owners have the choice to use in-house or 3rd party developers to tailor how users interact with Momentum, and to interface to in-house business systems such as issue tracking and traffic systems to maximize business value.

Active Directory Support– enables easy integration of Momentum into an organization’s centralized IT infrastructure in line with its security policies. This means that users need to log on to their PC only once to access all their services – automatically giving them access at the right authority level to Momentum’s sophisticated tools and capabilities.

More new device drivers – for Radiant Grid (audio mapping), Screen MediaMate (subtitling), Aurora Digimetrix (QC) and Elemental (streaming channels and VOD) – reflecting Snell’s ongoing commitment to fully supporting the ever-growing range of third party applications in the Momentum workflow.

“Momentum has always been a great workflow automation system with easiest to use and most powerful UI in the business,” said Karl Mehring, Head of Product Architecture, TV Everywhere at Snell. “These new developments announced at NAB have further broadened its range of MAM capabilities to make Momentum a complete MAM and workflow solution for enterprise scale media operations.”
