Nevion to launch new Ventura solutions at NAB for easy, integrated migration to IP
Posted on Tuesday, April 10, 2012
Oxnard, CA, April 10, 2012 – Nevion, the leading provider of managed video services for broadcasters, service providers and government entities worldwide, will showcase advances in its Ventura VS902 universal IP access platform and a new VS906 contribution codec for IP at NAB (booth SU2019). Together they provide easy, efficient migration to video-over-IP services.

“The strength and versatility of Nevion’s next-generation family of IP products—providing highly protected transport, visually lossless compression, and high density audio and data interfacing—enable our customers to seamlessly migrate to IP with one product family from one vendor. That kind of efficiency simply isn’t offered anywhere else in industry,” said Andy Rayner, director of product management, Nevion.

With the VS902, broadcasters and service providers can transport secure, high quality ASI/SD/HD/3G signals over a common unified platform for access to virtually any environment—long distance, metro area, and campus networks. Module enhancements span Nevion’s Streaming Intelligent Packet Switching (SIPS) for perfect video-over-IP protection switching using dual network feeds, virtual element management for full network monitoring, new 10G interface, and SMPTE 2022-6 video encapsulation.

Offering multichannel low-bit rate media interfacing for nearly all audio and data formats, Nevion’s new VS906 codec family provides the highest density, lowest power, and most network-flexible interfacing in the market today. It features 48 AES stereo pairs in only a 1U rack and fully flexible addressing for each flow with Nevion’s SIPS perfect protection switching.

All Ventura transport solutions adhere to stringent service provider standards, and are integrated with Nevion’s VideoIPath integrated software/hardware platform for completely managed video-over-IP services. Ventura solutions are used for many of the world’s high profile events including Olympic Games, World Cups, and Academy Awards telecasts.
