Historic Performances Highlight Shure’s UHF-RÒ, KSM9, and Beta 58A
NILES, IL, April 10, 2008 – Thousands of Colombians and Venezuelans attended a free concert, “Peace Without Borders,” on Sunday, March 16, on the border between the two countries. Colombia’s own Juanes, a GRAMMYÒ-winning artist and Shure endorser, organized the event to celebrate the end of the diplomatic crisis among Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador that was held at the Simon Bolivar Bridge, which connects Colombia and Ecuador.
“It would have been much more practical and simple to do it in a city,” said Juanes, “but the border is a symbol of peace between all countries…and this message is for everyone, all the countries in Latin America and the U.S. as well.”
In addition to Juanes, the concert also featured Shure endorsers from Spain, Miguel Bose and Alejandro Sanz, Colombian singer Carlos Vives, and Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra.
According to Juanes, all of the artists were very responsive when invited to perform at the event. “I think they all share my feelings,” he said. “How can we use our music to support this…use our art for something important?”
All of the artists used Shure UHF-R Wireless Systems and PSMÒ 700 In-Ear Monitors for their performances. Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra, and Carlos Vives sang using KSM9 Microphones, while Alejandro Sanz and Miguel Bose chose a Beta 58AÒ for their vocals.
