Ottawa, Canada, December 14th 2020 – Now in their ninth year, the annual Sound & Video Contractor (SVC) 'Innovative Products' Awards recognize the best professional AV products on the market, and recipients are selected by the magazines' readers through online voting. This year Ross has been honored with two awards, one for the Kiva Live Presentation Server and one for Lucid Studio, the control platform for virtual studio applications.
Launched in July 2020, Kiva is an exciting new video server platform with a simple, intuitive and easy to use icon-based user interface. It enables on-demand playout of a number of media formats, as well as giving operators the ability to create and schedule playlists containing these different formats. Kiva lends itself to many different production environments with the sports and live events industries being two that benefit greatly from Kiva's ability to schedule and play content on multiple displays around a venue. Similarly, Kiva is an excellent addition to broadcast studios with both live and 'live to disk' workflows, as well as corporate video production studios.
Lucid Studio was announced by Ross only two short months ago and replaces the previous UX control solution from Ross as the primary configuration and control interface for all Ross virtual studio and augmented reality applications. Lucid features a brand-new user interface that makes it much easier to configure, produce and go live. The UI uses the new 'Aura' visual language that will be a key aspect of many future solutions from Ross. Highly dynamic and offering impressive new levels of flexibility, this new interface enables operators to design their own customized layouts, as well as save and recall layouts based on personal preference or production stage.
Commenting on the two awards, Jeff Moore, Executive Vice President and CMO at Ross, highlights the importance of innovation during this challenging year. "Our top priority throughout 2020 has been to support our customers in every way we can, as they have navigated through the uncertainty of the pandemic. Challenging times call for innovative thinking, and it's highly appropriate that these two awards are for innovation given the circumstances in which the products being recognized were conceived and launched. Our thanks go to the readers of SVC for these two accolades, and we look forward to bringing everyone many more exciting innovations in 2021."
