Andy Rayner to present “Future-proofing Broadcast Connectivity”
February 15, 2011: Broadcast Video Expo stand G46 – Nevion, a leading video transport solutions provider for broadcasters, service providers and government entities worldwide, will be showcasing its range of advanced optical networking and video-over-IP solutions at BVE. On display will be solutions for upgrading broadcast facilities for HD and 3G, including video routers with optical IO and space-saving EO and OE conversion, as well as visually lossless JPEG 2000 compression of HD and transport over IP.
“Nevion continues to develop new products and enhance existing solutions that allow customers to easily upgrade to, manage, and protect the latest video infrastructures,” said Nick Pywell, UK managing director, operations at Nevion. “The ability to create networks that integrate legacy infrastructures with the newest technologies, while delivering efficient, high-quality video transport is critical today, especially given the expansion of 3G.”
On Thursday, February 17, Andy Rayner, Nevion’s newly-appointed director of Ventura product management, will present “Future-proofing Broadcast Connectivity.” The presentation will be part of BVE’s “Broadcast Meets IT” track. Rayner, formerly head of broadcast solutions at BT, will describe the potential for operational cost savings in a converged network encompassing LAN, voice and server interconnect, plus professional-broadcast video and audio.
Broadcasters visiting the Nevion stand will find integrated, comprehensive video signal processing, routing and transport products to transport any video format—within buildings or across continents—over optical fiber, telecom networks or IP infrastructures. Nevion’s design innovation and commitment to resource savings has resulted in products that are the greenest of their kind, reducing customers’ operational expenses and benefiting the environment.
