“AV Week” Proclamations Issued by Governor Herbert, Mayor Corroon, Mayor Timothy

Listen Technologies Corporation today announced that the week of October 16-22, 2011, has been proclaimed “AV Week” by Utah Governor Gary Herbert, Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon, and Bluffdale City Mayor Derk Timothy. All three proclamations state the impact of the audiovisual industry on everyday lives, noting AV applications in architecture, medicine, government proceedings, education, entertainment and business.

“The audiovisual industry affects everyone, every day” said Cory Schaeffer, Vice President of Sales Worldwide at Listen. “Anytime you walk into a school, church, theater, sports arena, shopping center, government office or other public venue, AV equipment is present to give you directions, help you hear better, enhance your visual experience, and improve communication with others.”

“It is my pleasure to sign the AV Week proclamation” commented Mayor Corroon following the Salt Lake County signing. “The proclamation was a good reminder of the importance of AV in business and our daily lives.”

AV Week is presented by InfoComm International, a worldwide association serving the audiovisual industry. The association offers regular training and support to its members and sponsors the annual InfoComm trade show, which attracted over 33,000 attendees in 2011. InfoComm members in the State of Utah representing 40 companies and individuals include manufacturers, AV consulting and design firms, system integrators, and end users.

To raise awareness of AV Week, Ms. Schaeffer petitioned the State of Utah, the County of Salt Lake, and the City of Bluffdale to issue proclamations. “We wanted Utahans to see how many companies in the state are involved with audiovisual technologies,” she said. “The AV industry is very healthy in Utah and benefits our economy not only through the technologies that are available, but also through job creation and revenues.”

As part of AV Week, Listen Technologies is hosting a walk fundraiser to support the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Walk4Hearing event, AV Jeopardy to test our employees’ knowledge of AV, a behind the scenes tour of the AV system that powers the local Rio Tinto Stadium.
