Swedish Sports Retail Chain Stadium Upgrades Digital Signage Network with Harris Corporation InfoCaster

Installation Marks One of the Largest Out-Of-Home Digital Signage Networks in Scandinavia

WINNERSH, England, July 23, 2009 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, announces that Swedish sports retail chain Stadium has installed a large number of Harris® InfoCaster Player™ content playout systems as part of a complete upgrade of its internal digital signage system. The system enables Stadium to provide its customers with sports-related clips, commercials and news feeds at any of its 110 stores with the flexibility to evolve into dynamic in-store advertising or high-definition transmissions.

For this project, Harris worked closely with local services company Effektfabriken, which is providing Stadium with a central management and hosting facility that includes InfoCaster Creator™ content creation stations and InfoCaster Manager™ network management products.

"Our new in-house digital signage system is much more efficient and cost-effective than our previous installation, and we are particularly pleased with the quality and flexibility of the InfoCaster Player devices and of the services provided by Effektfabriken," said Kristian Lundman, media manager, Stadium Communications. "We now have the flexibility of a modern in-store digital signage solution, with room to evolve into dynamic in-store advertising or high definition when the time comes."

The new digital signage solution includes 110 InfoCaster Player devices that enable Stadium to create multiple page layouts featuring video and stills with audio accompaniment, while reaping the benefits of advanced networking and scheduling capabilities. All the systems are connected to the InfoCaster Manager over Stadium's internal VPN network. The current composite video network, which will be upgraded to a high-quality VGA network in the future, powers a host of CRT screens, plasma screens and LCDs across every Stadium store.

"More than 60 million visitors a year visit our stores, so we wanted to deploy a state-of-the-art digital signage solution that enables us to communicate more dynamically with customers on the shop floor," said Lundman. "The InfoCaster Player devices are deployed over Stadium's 110 stores throughout Sweden, Finland and Denmark. This particular solution provides high-quality content on our current network, while being flexible enough to support a network upgrade in the future. We are now future-proof and able to provide our customers with interesting content such as sports-related clips, commercials and news feeds at any of our stores."

"This installation is an excellent example of how a digital signage solution based on Harris InfoCaster can provide retailers with a scalable infrastructure that will allow them to deploy high-quality, dynamic content at the point of sale," said Richard Scott, vice president, Europe, the Middle East and Africa operations for Harris Broadcast Communications.

Harris Broadcast Communications offers products, systems and services that provide interoperable workflow solutions for broadcast, cable, satellite and out-of-home networks. The Harris ONE™ solution brings together highly integrated and cost-effective products that enable advanced media workflows for emerging content delivery business models.
