Broadcast Pix Granite, iPixPanel Take Home Awards from NAB 2010
Posted on Thursday, April 22, 2010
(Billerica, Massachusetts) April 22, 2010. Broadcast Pix™ today announced two of its new products were recognized with awards from two industry magazines at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., last week. TV Technology gave one of its STAR Awards to Granite™, the company’s native HD, 1080p-ready live video production system, while Videography honored the iPixPanel application, which allows an Apple iPad to control any Slate video production system, with one of its Best of Show Vidy Awards. “We want to thank TV Technology and Videography for honoring us during NAB,” said Ken Swanton, President, Broadcast Pix. “It’s nice to know that other industry professionals share our enthusiasm for these new products. Our native HD Granite product line represents a true milestone in live video production, and the iPixPanel app turns an iPad into a powerful wireless control panel.” Granite, the new flagship product line for Broadcast Pix, combines the company’s innovative Fluent™ workflow software with a new HD switcher and HD server. It provides simultaneous multi-definition SDI I/O for 1080i, 720p, and SD sources – and is upgradable to 1080p. All three Granite models, including the 1 M/E Granite 100 and 1000 and the 2 M/E Granite 5000, provide up to 120 hours of clip store, a graphics system with a new Inscriber CG, a multi-view that displays video and file sources, watch-folders that streamline file import from editing systems, and macros for file-based effects. The iPixPanel recreates a classic switcher layout on the iPad with preview and program busses, as well as auto transition and cut buttons. With built-in device controls, it can add graphics and clips, create special effects, and control external devices such as robotic cameras. The iPixPanel also features PixButtons, which dynamically change to show the device attached and even the file name currently loaded, so you can tell at a glance what is loaded on every input, key, and file library button. Nominated by TV Technology editors and columnists, the STAR Awards (short for Superior Technology Award Recipient) showcase and celebrate technological innovations for the media industry. A select panel of engineers, editors, and production and post-production professionals join the Videography staff to judge the Best of Show Vidy Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology.
