  Speaking sessions will explore the evolution of video distribution and understanding NFPA 72

 BEAVERTON, Oregon — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, will lead two educational courses at the 2107 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition, Jan. 22-26 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla. Biamp’s Michael Frank, CTS, Eastern North America sales development director, will lead a session titled, “Navigating our Next Disruption to Video Distribution – Video over Ethernet,” and L. William Nattress, CTS-D, CTS-I, director of channel strategy - paging, will present “Understanding NFPA 72: ‘Class N’ Ethernet Infrastructure.”

   Biamp_Michael-Frank-croppedThe “Navigating our Next Disruption to Video Distribution – Video over Ethernet” session will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Frank will review how video distribution has evolved to point-to-point digital video solutions, how to successfully transition to an Ethernet infrastructure to enable flawless streaming, and the pros and cons to this transition. Attendees will learn the correct questions to ask their customers in order to select and integrate the most functional system to match their streaming needs.

In “Understanding NFPA 72: ‘Class N’ Ethernet Infrastructure,” held Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 3 – 4 p.m., Nattress will review the new update to the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Code 72, which approves the use of a Class N Ethernet infrastructure for alarm and signaling systems. Attendees will learn the definition and use case of the Class N infrastructure and how the communications industry now has a pivotal role in the messaging and distribution of emergency communications systems.
