New Annuncicom 155 solution allows for configuration of reliable communication systems based on existing LAN/WAN infrastructures
ZURICH, SWITZERLAND, September 2010 — Barix AG, a pioneer in IP-based audio transmission, intercom, control and monitoring systems, introduces the Annuncicom 155 IP intercom and announcement solution for use in trains, railway stations and tunnels. The device, to be introduced at the Innotrans show (Berlin, September 21st – 24th, Hall 4.1, Stand 216), enables configuration of bespoke communication systems that can be used in applications ranging from simple door intercom systems, PA systems and music recordings to complex monitoring functions and emergency announcement systems.
The basic principle of a communication system based on the Annuncicom 155 is both elaborate and simple. At least two devices are connected to a bidirectional TCP/IP LAN network to exchange live announcements as well as priority, monitoring and control information. Barix SIP firmware can be added to enable integration into conventional SIP1-based telephone systems. Control signals, output specifically in announcer system applications, enable the connection of a selector switch, buttons or an LED display. This allows for the dialing of numbers and the control and display of connection status.
The Annuncicom 155 system can operate as a standalone system or in conjunction with PCs and central IT management in a standard network, enabling low-cost and quick configuration of the communication system while guaranteeing future expansion.
“As with all of our products, the Annuncicom 155 is based on TCP/IP and works with Audio-over-IP. This means it can be integrated very easily and conveniently into existing networks and is proving to a future-proof technology when it comes to subsequent enhancements,” said Johannes G. Rietschel, CEO and Founder of Barix AG. “Its stable design is perfectly suitable for harsh everyday operation in trains, buses and ships, as well as for deployment in non air-conditioned outside areas at airports and railway stations. The TCP/IP technology demonstrates its real benefits in these applications and allows wide-ranging networking and deployment of existing IP infrastructures - even in Multicast mode to simultaneously address any number of subscribers.“
The Annuncicom 155 has been developed specifically for deployment in trains and railway stations and conforms to standards EN 55022, EN 61000-6-2, EN 50121 and EN 50155.
