As the home to a CCTV monitoring system and the local Disaster Status Control Center, the Taebaek(Republic of Korea) Town Hall fulfills a very important role. Various sources of information, including cameras, sensors and media footage, are processed and analyzed there, allowing potentially dangerous situations to be predicted, actions to be taken and the population to be informed.

“Our new Barco displays quickly process the available data, collate and display it for us to analyze. The image quality is excellent. And this is extremely important to us,” explains DongGil Lim. “Better image quality helps us to see more and minimize response times. It helps us to keep Taebaek City safe.”

Taebaek Town Hall chose to use two different Barco tiled LCD video walls. Firstly, They have installed a 4x2 Barco UniSee wall in the Disaster Status Control Center. Secondly, for their CCTV monitoring system, located in a separate room, they have installed a 6x2 OverView KVD-5521B video wall. The different strengths of the displays make them perfect for their specific applications.

“The Barco UniSee tiled LCD video wall has the smallest seams on the market,” says DongGil Lim. “And the real-time calibration delivers perfect image uniformity across the entire screen. The high-level brightness means we can clearly see even the smallest details.”

DongGil Lim is equally impressed with the OverView KVD-5521B video wall used for CCTV monitoring. This is the first of the OverView KVD-5521B (the LCD video wall that stands out through value) to be installed anywhere in Korea.

“As it was also designed as a mid-range solution for 24/7 operation and mission critical applications, the OverView KVD-5521B really lived up to the expectations” says DongGil Lim. “We feel confident that it will be a huge benefit to us in our work and to everyone in our region.”
