“Civil servants never get anything done” – an outdated prejudice that is certainly not true in the case of Lanaken, a municipality in the Belgian province of Limburg. Here, four full-time IT professionals ensure optimum working conditions for over 1,000 users and 500 workspaces – including the local school. Recently, the team decided to trade HDMI cables in classrooms and training rooms for a more elegant solution.
Bye bye, HDMI
“We were introduced to the ClickShare wireless presentation system at the ISE trade show in Amsterdam”, explains IT Coordinator Bert Convents. “Barco was already well known to us because of its projection technology, so when they talked about the future of meeting room technology, we were all ears. We all agreed: HDMI is outdated – it’s time to go wireless.”
“We started out with two CSM-100 units, and were the first to integrate ClickShare in the organizational network. Over time, we’ve added another seven CSE-200 units. We manage all systems simultaneously and remotely via the collaboration management suite. While the systems were purchased through a system integrator, Barco itself offers support. That’s very comforting: they know the system inside out and never cease to deliver quality material. I’m eager to find out what Barco has in store next!”
