In a digital world, financial institutions are increasingly reliant on their software and hardware to ensure that banking processes run smoothly. To keep a close eye on its IT infrastructure, Portugal-based bank Banco Caixa Geral is using the latest Barco OverView KVD5521B LCD video wall displays with top-notch visualization functions and modular design. The setup marks the first installation of Barco’s newest modular LCD video wall in the 3.5mm market in Europe.

All eyes on IT
To keep track of its critical IT infrastructure, DSI (Direção de Sistemas de Informação) - the IT department of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Portugal’s largest public banking corporation - installed the previous model of the Barco OverView KVD5521 LCD video wall several years ago at its headquarters in Lisbon. In the summer of 2018, in order to fully benefit from the latest technology updates, Barco’s local partner Casa Serras replaced the old model with the brand-new OverView KVD5521B – an optimized version of the successful OverView model and currently the best 3.5mm LCD video wall in market.

Bright, virtually bezel-free and modular design

The OverView KVD5521B is a modular, high-performance yet cost-optimized LCD panel, designed for use in tiled video wall applications. Set up in a 5x2 configuration, the 55” LCD displays enable users to show content from diverse sources – all in bright and virtually bezel-free circumstances. The video wall is driven by Barco’s NGP-400 and TransForm display controllers, and the CMS control room management software, thus offering a fully integrated and complete control room in one package. The representative of DSI at Banco Caixa Geral, expects the new video wall to take visualization to the next level: “While Sense X, the automatic color and brightness calibration technology ensures perfectly balanced images, we also appreciate the absence of noisy cooling fans. The modularity of the video wall, with the input board and power supply separate from the LCM panel, allows easy set-up and truly user-friendly servicing. It will definitely help us monitor our IT infrastructure more efficiently.”
