About the Role
We are searching for a Software Engineer to be at the heart of our Engineering team based in our Dalgety Bay office.

VITEC is the global leader in enterprise IP video technology. We are a global company with a number of other offices around the world and we are the leader in the IPTV & Digital signage market.
Our development is based on innovation. From handling high bitrate, encrypted, UHD satellite streams to custom UX on the latest smart TVs for our international client base, the opportunities are endless. You will be working with the latest codec and encryption technologies central to the transport of secure video over an enterprise network.

About You
You will have experience of software engineering and will have achieved a technical degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics or a related discipline.

You will be involved in:

• Creation of the core engine components that drive our product lines
• Focus on C/C++ based libs on a daily basis
• Daily collaboration within the engineering team

Skills

You will have knowledge of or have experience working with:

• Coding in C and/or C++
• Familiarity with linux: yocto
• Exposure to agile development
• Willingness to learn new coding languages and technologies
• Ability to discuss and present work to the rest of the team
• Cross compilation for embedded systems
• An understanding of networking technologies and protocols
• Exposure to Javascript/nodejs/angular/react a bonus
• An understanding of web based technologies a bonus
