Vela’s Argus ® 200/250 4:2:0 encoder boards
are designed for a broad range of
professional applications. The Argus 200/250
supports the MPEG-2 & MPEG-4 (ASP)
encoding profiles, making it the ideal choice
for applications that demand superior video
quality. Argus 200/250 4:2:0 encoder is the
perfect choice when encoding rates up to
15Mbps are desired. Both boards encode a
variety or resoultions from SIF to full-resolu-
tion MPEG-2 formats.
The hallmark feature of the Argus 200/250
encoder line is embedded hardware stream
processor, resulting in system resource sav-
ings and increased efficiency.
Both Argus 200/250 encoders accept compos-
ite, component. The Argus 250 encoder also
supports serial digital (SMPTE 259M) video
inputs and supports up to 4 channel of analog
or 8 channel digital (AES/EBU) audio. Both
the Argus 200/250 4:2:0 encoder support
closed caption encoding for broadcast and
cable applications.
The Argus 250 series supports encoding of embedded audio in the SDI stream.Both Argus
200/250 encoders accept of longitudinal time code (LTC) and VITC inputs. Variable bit rate
encoding support is included.
