Posted on Sunday, April 15, 2012
Sunday, April 15th 2012 [Las Vegas, NV] – Ross Video introduces 10 new products to its OpenGear and GearLite lines, just in time for NAB 2012.

GearLite
Ross’ GearLite line of point-of-use “bricks” adds SDI to HDMI conversion as well as new 3G Fiber Optic Receiver, Transmitter and Transceiver bricks.

GearLite SDI to HDMI Converter
The SHC-9642 is the newest member of Ross’ GearLite family offering a robust metal enclosure with a locking power connector. The converter is a point-of-use product for converting SDI signals, up to 3Gb/s (1080p) to HDMI, offering a reclocked SDI output plus two channels of audio.

“As you know, HDMI has quickly become the standard for monitoring displays. Our new SHC-9642 converter allows customers to utilize off-the-shelf monitors in their productions. Coupled with a robust metal enclosure the SHC-9642 is designed to withstand the toughest user,” explains Eric Goodmurphy, Marketing Product Manager, openGear.

GearLite Fiber Optic Solutions
Ross Video  introduces electrical and optical conversions in a new portable point-of-use GearLite line. The new GearLite optical line offers three products for converting 3Gb/s HD/SD signals for transmission over longer distances: optical-to-electrical converter, electrical-to-optical converter and a bi-directional transceiver/converter.

“Transmitting 1080p, 720p and 1080i over longer distances continues to be a challenge often requiring the use of fiber optics,” says Eric Goodmurphy, Marketing Product Manager, openGear. “Our GearLite optical line is an affordable, small point-of-use solution to send remote signals to their desired destination.”

openGear
openGear, established by Ross is the industry standard platform of choice.  It continues to grow and expand with 37 partner companies now on board with the standard.  In addition to previously announced openGear products, Ross is also introducing a range of AES Audio solutions.

openGear AES Audio & Audio Conversion/Distribution
Ross Video introduces discreet audio on their UDC-8625 format converter with a new low price of $3495. The UDC-8625 multi-function solution offers up, down and cross conversion, keying, logo insertion, A/B mixing with audio video timing, processing and synchronization – and now with a new 16 channel discrete audio option configurable to 16 in, 16 out, or 8 in /8 out. This built in flexibility allows end users to manage all their audio embedding and de-embedding needs directly on the UDC-8625 without the need for additional equipment.

Additionally Ross Video has released a new line of audio conversion and distribution products which include new digital distribution amplifiers, analog distribution amplifiers and analog/digital converters include adjustment and correction of the output signal with channel selection, gain control and LKFS reporting. The new analog/digital conversion products offer up to four channels of conversion on a single card. The new series of distribution amplifiers, including the analog audio amplifier, offer remote gain control from DashBoard.
