Retro View HD-SDI 1-channel video recorder is a cost-effective software-based system that collects and inserts instrument data from numerous sources via RS232, overlays this on a video camera input and records it all in real time. Recording 4 channels of raw HD video requires an enormous amount of space, however, we use H.264, an efficient but very high quality video compression technology whose video fidelity is excellent.
With the advent of digital cameras and recording, it is now possible to add crucial instrument data on top of live video footage. This is useful when critical video data is collected and other sensor data is often correlated with the events unfolding in the video. DVEO recently developed a one to four channel video recording system designed for simultaneous video and data collection.
The data collection, data overlay, and compression process is computationally intensive. We provide a high end Intel® Xeon® Dual 8 core CPU.
The Retro View also provides an option to stream transcoded video with overlaid data to remote sites using IP streaming.
For automated video recordings and monitoring, we also provide schedule based video recording.
