Barco took Silver honors in the immersive environment category at Digital Signage Expo (DSE), collaborating with Creative Technology to provide 60 large venue projectors to create a spectacular projection mapping event at the Hoover Dam.

The dynamic visual spectacular at this national landmark – one of the top 10 engineering marvels in the world – was commissioned by Daimler Trucks North America for its Freightliner Inspiration Truck campaign. A total of 30 Barco HDF-W26 and 30 HDX-W20 FLEX projectors were seamlessly blended to create a single 4592 x 2048 pixel image on the 420,000-square-foot surface, generating an astonishing, record-breaking 1.17 million lumens.

“Given the requirements and challenges of the work environment, the decision to use our vast inventory of Barco projectors was a quick one,” comments Angie Dellapi, Project Lead for Creative Technology. “The results of the decision paid off in a flawless event, brilliant and vibrantly displayed over the entire face of the dam for all of the world to see.”

The annual DSE APEX Awards are designed to recognize and honor achievement in the installation of digital displays and interactive technology and the creation of compelling viewer content. The awards have honored hundreds of companies for their innovation throughout the years.
